Wildfire: Rough!

Hello, Faithful Readers! I apologize for not being super regular on my blogs lately but life has been crazy! I will try to give you an “update” on my life but for now I have an urgent prayer request.

Many of you may remember my posts about the winter camp that I attend with my youth group, Hume Lake. I recently was made aware of the wildfire Rough that is haunting the Sierra Nevada's in this area. The last that I heard, it was about 2-3 miles away from Hume Lake and still raging onward directly toward the camp.
It has burned over 30,000 acres, and the camp has been evacuated!
Please join me in praying that God does a wonder to protect this special place from this fire. This camp has changed many lives and is filled with God's presence. I know that He can do a miracle and that is what I urge you to pray for. Pray that God keeps everyone safe and that he gives the firefighters wisdom what to do. Pray for God's presence in the midst of this disaster! Thank you all so much and stay tuned for an update on my life and other posts!

  2. I'm praying for your firefighters and your fire. We need prayer up here, too. The wildfire count is up to at least seventeen wildfires in Eastern Washington, which is our side of the state. Everything is on fire over here. The entire sky is so black with smoke we couldn't see the sun this evening. It's really eerie and creepy. Three fire fighters died tonight in Central Washington due to a new fire, and five towns (Yes, towns with a population over a thousand people!) have been evacuated tonight as the fires rage through. Your state, our state, Oregon and Idaho as well as Alaska is practically on fire. I have never been so close to wildfires as I have been this year, watching them burn the hill across from us on the prairie or watching the neighbor's pine trees burn. Pray for rain, pray for protection! I'll be praying for your camp. I really truly hope it won't burn, but if it does, God will have a plan for restoration, I'm sure of it.

    Thanks for updating us.

  3. I prayed for the firefighters and the fire crews, and for the safety of anyone in the path of the fire. I also asked God to intervene and to spare Hume Lake Camp.

    1. Thank you very much! I just checked and Hume is still in the path of the rapidly growing fire. There are about 400 firefighters working to protect Hume and the fire is estimated to hit Hume in one to two days. Please, Everyone! Continue to intercede for this camp who has touched and changed so many lives!!! I personally have many friends who became Christians up there. Hume Lake is a great and Godly camp and I know that God will be watching over it. Whatever happens, I know that God will give wisdom to the leaders, staff, and firefighters. Thank you God, for this comfort in the midst of this danger!

    1. Thank you, Everyone! The fire is still growing and Hume is still in its path. It is "expected" that the fire will hit Hume soon but our God can still do miracles! Continue praying!

  6. I just ran across this verse: Isaiah 43:2 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

May this be our prayer for Hume!
